Thoughts? Q2 end coincidence? What does it all mean?

Why do cfos leave near the end? I hope they are not blamed for poor forecasting?
Like another poster said, Cisco/Viptela isn’t a Cinderella, the solution is filled with many bugs and rapid patch release cycles .. on top of being pushed a very pricey ISR. VeloCloud/VMware .. all soon to be bolted on top of NSX, which again is filled with its own bugs and, honestly, VMware is just too darn expensive to start adding CPU and memory hogging software accessories. Silver Peak, not a real networking company and does not have the correct engineers to create products for scale and (most importantly) for networking.
IMO, Versa’s only mistake was attempting to sell “through” Service Providers, whom at the time, we’re trying to figure out their own digital transformation strategy (which is simply services).
Now quadrant aside, today’s quadrant is a moving target because everyone is a poor job at execution. So in a pool of D players, consider the leaders simply the “best of the worst” D+ players while everyone else are D-.
Reality is this, SDWAN router’s must have every feature in order to provide L3 overlay services - not (blind) path selection for many reasons. Route manipulation using BGP on a stick is so lame it’s really hard to put into words why that’s even a thing. Lastly, scale .. how easily can you scale horizontally (or vertically) and does it make sense to networking people. I think too many non-routing companies failed to recognize that there are certain things you cannot mask or disguise before the bad engineering and design of products would be realized.
Bottom line is folks, Versa has the potential and they were on the right track from the beginning. Don’t let a sales strategy mock the value of a (more) properly engineered product.
That story was most unhelpful b/c it spooked customers and caused a few large deals expected to close last qtr to get stalled. By all accounts I keep hearing the Versa solution is solid but I agree that most customers simply don't have time to try all the solutions out there and will just stick to the ones on the upper right. Had we bought Versa instead 3 years ago it might have been a different story.
Suspect Q2 isn’t good and the recent Bloomberg story getting to the press has caused friction at the top possibly. I guess only the board and JT knows the ins and outs.
Never good news when the finance guy decides to go imho.
Whilst the Versa story might be a bright spot ultimately, many firms draw up shortlisted vendors for a poc from the upper right quadrant. Not sure rvbd or Versa gonna be there as an option for many still.
Anything new with versa. Any beta requests? Has the qtr fully closed?
No parachute If voluntary. It means he rather not wait for a possible buyout/payday. Other peers may be waiting for both.
SNL stands for Saturday night life?
JT go bye bye. Does his Class B get returned to common pool? buyback at $0.034, getting a taste of his own medicine. Or golden parachute?
That’s all I could think of too. He was great on SnL.
Justin Timberlake
Where is he joining? Did he finish the Q2 slides at least?
Just a shuffling of the slop in San Fran, all it is.
Glad I was promoted from LL6 many years ago, whew.
