This is NOT based on metrics.

The company is trying to follow the directions of Walgreens and CVS. Whenever something negative happens at Walgreens and CVS, it always finds it's way to Walmart.

I know of stores that have great numbers, increased scripts and profit BUT they were still impacted with loss of hours.

When opi--d stewardship was implemented and they said it will not impact our projection for script count due to loss in business, that was a damn lie as well. You can work harder, but the company will not reward your pharmacy.

This is coming from above MHWD. It's all in the algorithm. There will be some that are 'last in, first out'. There will be some that have 2-5 years of work history. There will be some that are 10+ years in the pharmacy. The algorithm picks names from EACH pool so that it does not discriminate. Pharmacy managers are just told names from MHWD the week prior for techs and day of for staff pharmacist. HMWD are given names month in advance with many seminars in the weeks leading to the layoffs to prepare talking points. NO INDIVIDUAL was picked purely based on a manager's decision, another way to prevent lawsuits. It really was all in the algorithm.

The algorithm Walmart used was 40% seasoned staff, 40% new hire, and 20% part time/floats.

Walmart used this algorithm to prevent lawsuits that they discriminated against higher wage earners.

In April I received my 10 year pin from Walmart - I began on the floor in Housewares/Domestics, then was offed part time on the floor in OTC (which I took which I accepted with the hopes of the possibility of being given the opportunity to work in the pharmacy as a Tech.

I went to full time OTC, then was offered a Tech position in the pharmacy in 2014. I became nationally certified with PTCB in early 2015 & have always received excellent ratings & excel with customer service due my past work as a waitress, bartender, nurses aid, and side work as a product vendor at large public events. No occurrences, no tardies, no customer complaints - speed with accuracy & accurate till, plus I traveled on my days off to outlying pharmacies that needed Tech help & they loved me, as did their customers.

I was 1 of the losses with the algorithm! I am devastated! And now I have to scramble to try to find a Walmart Pharmacy that is within a realistic drive range & has a Tech opening, or in August I will get 1 week Severance for each year with Walmart.

My 10 year Walmart pin went into the garbage during my "you're let go & it's not about your performance" meeting. I was respectful during the meeting, but I said I deserved answers since this had nothing to do with my performers & I can't work in our pharmacy or travel to help the other stores' pharmacies unless I can find an opening & transfer to 1 of the surrounding stores' pharmacies.

Our Pharmacy Manager was heartbroken, as was our store manager- they said they were shocked & wanted answers as to how the choice was made for the cut but weren't given any answers- neither was our regional pharmacy manager.

I am human & I'm devastated! I now know that regardless of being an excellent employee & how much the customers & pharmacies like me, I still mean nothing to Walmart as an employee & a person :'(

We were told "last in , first out" by our market manager . I do not know if all were done that way or if that was how my district chose to do it. And 1 person per store , to minimize shake up . Meaning 1 pharmacist effected rather than the burden of losing hours/job/store be shared . ALL stores affected though, regardless of performance , just some more than others.

No, the algorithm took several things into the decision mix, performance was not one of them
