Thread regarding DXC Technology layoffs

Read: UK&I Compulsory Pools / Self Selecting People

If you get an email for CR or Self selecting they will encourage you to take VR within a day or two of that notice. Under no circumstances accept it.

Once they put you in a compulsory pool you have a series of consultation meetings, you can apply for VR up to 5 days after the first meeting and still get VR on the same terms.

Also even when you get the invite for consultation they need to give you 5 days notice, they try to get away with 1-2 days. and if they demand you attend say you want to bring a colleague in with you that will get you 5 days. It’s law.

That should take some of you into a new months pay cycle.

I’m 100% about this. Until then ride the system. And get paid for doing so.

Always handy if you get CR (rather than VR) to raise a grievance procedure, appeal to strength your hand if you happen to go to further routes after redundancy - plus it gives message to them that you're not a push over and again they waste their time and money getting / hiring HR and managers in to hear your grievance / appeal.

Would have expected the unions to do more to strike up a fight against constant WFR from DXC

Why get the Union involved there 100% useless, they have acheived nothing at all in all the years I have known them (20 years). They are now asking if the RMG T&C's can be re-instated for this redundancy round (for x RMG staff) 1) DXC are going to laugh them out of the building and 2) A lot of the Reps are x RMG so there trying to look after themselves after being safe for the years of this ongoing redundancy programme(s)!! Just look after yourself. Take the money and get another job the market is wide open with IT jobs on better pay that DXC pay!..

I’ve looked into this, it’s not £2800 plus a months extra salary. It’s whichever one is higher.

Most people don’t get £2800 a month so the extra months salary wouldn’t apply to them.

And yes I agree it does sound absurd why they would make it look like it was enhanced whereas in actual fact it isn’t enhanced at all. Only the people in very high salaries would stand to benefit from this.

@jnb The standard VR terms are £2800 on top of statutory pay.

The enhanced terms for VR was the usual £2800 plus an extra months pay(£2800 minimum) so at least double the standard VR.

If you're in a pool, take the VR and run or they'll have you out the door with even less in a couple of months.

The legacy terms for regular IC CSC staff are better than the so called enhanced payment.

It was £2800 incentive, most of us don’t get that anyway so the rule applied is £2800 or a months salary whichever is greater.

The emails have come out this afternoon. Loads of people in UK&I , especially all of bus/dev, all given the chop. In pools with no scoring - everyone to lose their jobs. Being told we are gone by 11th July. UK&I legacy terms apply. Only difference from WFR is they are not giving us the extra months wages. Who gives a s**t anymore.

Even if you're WFR or about to - raise a grievance procedure about how unfair WFR and once you WFR raise an appeal - unlikely to over turn results but it adds evidence to any potential Employment tribunal / ACAS action that you / punters may take and also waste's DXC time and money bringing in on hire HR / managers up the tree and solicitors in.

Also get the union involved as well - even again it doesn't do anything it may raise the plight of people being WFR - although unions may not do anything after that / during even if redundancies are in the thousands.
