I was laid off and then rehired and they reinstated me at my seniority from my previous time with NOV. If I got laid off, would a severance package include the whole time I’ve worked at NOV because my seniority was reinstated- or just the time I’ve been there this time?

on severance package there trickle it's up to H.R. & NOV policies. Once you sign & receive the package you'll start fresh again. Your lucky if NOV reinstated your seniority. NOV policy are under the tables when it come to this. I experiences this after 42 yrs with NOV
Best of luck to you! And hopefully you won't ever have to find out!
Right, I completely understand nothing is a guarantee. But, I do know that people were recently laid off and did receive them. I also know a lady who was laid off from NOV and rehired back two years later - only here 4 months and they offered her the full VERP package. She took it. So, I just wasn’t sure because I have been reinstated whether I would get any kind of severance because I’ve only been here less than a year. I wasn’t sure how the severance works in that case bc everything else is based on full length of employment for me. I was grateful to get it the first time and will be grateful for whatever this time, if anything.
First, getting a severance package in a lay-off is never guaranteed. But if they do offer severance this time and you already got a severance package the last time, you will not get the full or same as everyone else because you were already paid off once.
I asked & if you were hired back & your time was reinstated you will get a severance!
If you received a severance you won’t get full payment again. That is a fact
I forgot to mention that when I get laid off the first time, I did receive a severance package. So, I wasn’t sure I’d because they reinstated my seniority whether I would get paid for all the years again.
It includes the whole time you worked there.
