From today's Union meeting it seems there were strategies to reduce headcount at all centres, but the only option DXC are actively considering now is to move all 'Deliver' roles out of Chesterfield and relocate them.
So, whilst this is not a done deal yet, it looks like the writing is on the wall
Raises a few questions:
How will the site be viable once 90% of the headcount is gone?
How will knowledge transfer happen?
How do they expect to provide proper support to the clients?
It seems that management think moves will be easy due to the 'wonderful' work of Bionix who have produced automated solutions for many things, to my knowledge very few of these solutions have been tested or have customer buy in - this will create an absolute sh-- storm when the inevitable dip in service levels happens, contracts will be lost and the company will fail
Seems a very strange decision to lose so much knowledge and expertise in the name of cost cutting, but those of us who have been here a while are used to the idiocy of upper management that only makes it impossible for people left to provide any sort of service to their clients. This time, however, it seems that those who will feel the pain of having to try and deliver a service with no resource will be at other centres as everyone in Chesterfield will be gone!
