Thread regarding Windstream Corp. layoffs

You know at EA the execs are forgoing their bonuses and putting it into an employee fund. They are wildly more successful than WS though albeit evil.

I love reading all the comments on the Stream post. One thing no one has mentioned is that managers have gotten around the raise issue. In case you haven’t noticed recently, the majority of management have all been promoted up one level. I have NEVER seen so many Sr Directors in my life. Again...eff the rest of us.

Did anyone catch how ol' CW dropped TheLayoff.com into one of his posts about moderation? He knows. They know.

And none of the uppers with the bonus have chimed in on that post. They know it's BS.

Lee Iaccoca lowered his salary to $1 a year when Chrysler went to the government for a bailout. That's leadership, which is exactly why you won't see it here. You lead people, you manage things. A they've managed us right into the ground.

It's like with the new review process. It's better for me to sandbag my tickets and bill more time on them, as a way to reduce "non-productive" time. This, in turn, screws up all the other metrics. We're drowning in data, and being judged on how that makes pretty charts and graphs for these bean counting buffoons who've led us to bankruptcy.

Glad to see other trying to keep this stream post alive. It looks like a few moderators tried to jump in.

CW the natives are restless and not happy about the leadership and the boards decisions. We all know "This place isn't a prison " and we are free to leave anytime. WHY do we continue to reward people for their failures? Can we outsource the board and executive team to a 3rd world county

and save $50 million in compensation.

I enjoy people being blunt about transparency and responsibility from the leadership about KEIP and KERP. All we have heard is crickets from the leadership team.

We have turned the corner and are going up market to land the bigger customers, HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!! Meanwhile in reality we havent turned up a single circuit/customer in my area in June while I have completed 53 disconnects. This cannot continue much longer. Going for my d--g test Wednesday for my new job, already have my farewell email typed up! After 15yrs with the company as a Network Technician I will be leaving. I know this network like the back of my hand, one of the last ones that can make that statement in my area. Good luck, I truly hope Windstream does turn this around. I just do not see any way possible that can happen with this leadership team. Goodbye Windstream, I will miss the people I got to work with everyday.

I cannot wait for the next townhall, if TT has the balls to do another one, I don't think it will be as cheerful as they have been during the last two. Who am I kidding he will be to chicken sh!+ to do another one.

That one guy has been distracted and looking at the thread on stream all week and hasn't been able to get anything done so he made it read only. LOL

The guy 5 replies down said it best... 'no future for Windstream'. Nuf said?

Someone should mention that the compensation this is put in place to replace was stock-based. Part of corporate governance is that executives are paid in stock so that if the 'ship goes down' so do they. Instead we are seeing large cash payouts to try to compensate them for their own poor decisions.

The VP of Compensation replied to this blog with following explanation:

'Executive teams that drive a company into bankruptcy normally receive bonuses in the millions as a standard practice and as compared with other failed executive teams in thee industry - its the norm'

and 'Windstream hired an outside firm to rubber stamp this greed on the executives behalf so blame them not Windstream's compensation team'

Did I miss anything Mary??

How about answering the big question: 'What has Windstream asked from the courts to assist the employee base that has not seen any pay adjustments JUST FOR INFLATIONARY PRESSURES for years'. MAN UP Mary or quit and let a more capable and honest person take charge.

And to think I was going to try to get some work done today!

Since only the Top 5 Executives will gain from attaining any goals and the rest of us get the shaft, why would I be so stupid to bother?? Windstream is not a prison for some - I on the other hand am seeking parole. I don't see us making many of these critical dates before services are shut off (internal teams know what I am talking about) - but perhaps the 5 executives will get all the work done that the other 12,000 employees are too disillusioned to even worry about accomplishing any longer.

Just like to know how they sleep at night or look at their selves in the mirror

What is TT going to response with? "Yes, you are right, I will be forgoing any bonuses until we are out of chapter 11 and profitable again" LMFAO

AT&T laying off over 900 techs in the southeast, slowly getting rid of landline, more will be laid off. AT&T will be in the Windstream areas, and have better service, no future for Windstream

lol... You think 20 million is a big investment on fixed wireless. It is peanuts nothing special. Heck ATT just spent 1 billion on 5G the areas Windstream won nobody else wanted.

They just spent 20 something million on spectrum for 5g. They're planning on keeping the ship afloat for the future.

Anyone really think Windstream or this clown ceo will be around in 5 years? I give it 1 year tops.

The leadership has shown that it is ABSOLUTELY FINE to not put forth any effort unless you are provided incentives. In fact, the greedy CEO just signed a 5 year extension with a 2 million dollar bonus a couple day after losing the court case and a couple days before declaring CH11.

Yet he then felt the need to be paid even more dollars as an incentive after just committing to this 5 year contract. To bad the Judge is ignorant or stupid about this unscrupulous behavior or just does not care - does not really matter which at this point.

The only thing the rest of us Windstreamers can learn from this behavior is it FINE and APPROVED (by the Leadership, The BoD and the Judge actions and examples) to not be motivated and to slack off on job duties until you receive motivation dollars.

Anyways, time to go play golf and then have dinner with the vendors. Perhaps tomorrow Leadership will provide me the incentive to do my job - but planning a day at the beach as my expectations are very low that this issue will be addressed!

Just a reminder, this isn't a prison, you are free to go at time! We don't lock the doors when you come into work to leave. Also I can't wait to get my bonus check so I can plan another vacation hiking a mountain in Europe!

Why did CW post a "reminder" I can count like 4 things he did in the DO section. He was bold by posting and asked good questions. I wonder if that network tech has heard from anyone.

Because they already know what the outcome of Chap 11 will be - as it's all in the Master Plan...
