With all the BS going on in Anthem, is it better to "jump ship" when an opportunity arise or wait it out ?

I got the axe in May. I worked 50+ hours a week for 10 years and that was the thanks I got. It is a toxic environment and everyone is waiting to get the word their services are no longer appreciated. It's sickening.

In the same boat here at Anthem and it is sinking.

In 1-on-1 last week my Manager 'hinted' at more job cuts (we have lost 3 already). He said 'I want everyone to just be aware..."

Just a year ago we had like 3 more open positions. Now all our Contractors are gone and we lost 2 FT people.

I have a company pushing me (hard!) to consider an offer. I like the hours/benefits and for the most part my job at Anthem, but I am getting older. Jobs are hard to get, especially good paying ones.

I think everyone has to look at this job cutting seriously and choose to find another if you are getting vibes your position may be cut next.

Just heard an IT Manager just jumped ship and resigned. Can’t really blame the person given all the BS happening now in Anthem I’m sure this won’t be the last Associate Anthem is going to lose unless Leadership has a change of heart which I really doubt, one should have a heart to begin with.

@ZBiDu6x-2aem ... I agree anybody age 50 and below jumping ship now may be a wise decision. However, for someone like me pushing close to 60, it’s not as easy. Damm you Anthem !!!

Supplemental pay isn’t worth sticking around for, if you get a better offer go! Quality of life is worth more in the long run.

My take is if you are under 50, jump. You need to find a more stable work environment.

For us who are eligible for the max 6 months of supplemental pay and unemployment benefits, it may just be wise to just wait it out. Basically 6 months vacation with pay then either look for other employment or early retirement. Jumping ship now you are bailing Anthem from paying you the supplemental money that you deserve. Just my personal take on the matter but anyway you look at it unfortunately Anthems ends up winning.

Jump. The severance is bad. And job market is very good outside right now. It may not be the same next year.

Plus living in a toxic work environment full of anxiety is not good for health. Life is way better outside Anthem.

JUMP. Leaving Anthem was the best decision I’ve made in years.

Jump if other opportunity is out there for you. Unless you can take this toxicity Environment is like sleeping with an enemy, so to speak.
