Just wondering, as I'm new here. How are layoffs done at Ford?
Is it a phone call? Are you called in for a special meeting?
How much time do you have after being notified to collect your stuff? Do they walk you out immediately and ship your belongings to your home address?
Only the pussies arrive to work on Tues & Wed.....some of us took a vacation & could care less.
My LL4 has a private 15 minute meeting scheduled for tomorrow with each team member. During the meeting, you will find out you fate. Everyone will be paid through the end of May. You have the choice of leaving after the meeting or working until the 31st. You get paid for the time either way. If you do not want to pack up you desk, your manager will do it later ship the items to your home.
It is different for Agency. You may get a call at home and the personal items in you desk will be shipped. It is also possible a rep from your Agency will come to you office to deliver the news in person. I've seen it happen both ways in the past

I heard that those affected will get an email tomorrow followed up by a meeting notice with their manager. In our PD dept, the meetings will be 15 min long.
It varies. In "Way Forward", people were walked out, and put in cabs (if they had a company car). I think people are being given the choice to grab&go, or stay thru the end of the week/month. We're professionals, after all... According to the note - they aren't planning on walking anyone out, unless its perceived as a security risk (you have access to sensitive data, or may get hostile). But that's not different than any other release for Ford or Contract Staff.
