SIRP is Salary Involuntary Separation Program. We are doing SRIP right now. If it makes sense, please refer to this round of layoffs as SIRP so we can separate things from other types of cuts / layoffs.

I bet the original poster works in Accounting/Finance. Keeping things organized and precise is the way to go if you are in Accounting/Finance. Unfortunately, most of us are disorganized and creative kind of people, so I am sure we'll be all over the place when it comes to that naming convention.
