Thread regarding Lenovo layoffs

Lenovo is done for and those jobs are not coming back

I heard that the people that were let go last year only got 6 month of paid cobra benefits. Half of what they provided to employees, if people decided to take the voluntary package.

To the people that still employed by Lenovo. Look for another job while you can. It is a lot easier to find another job while you are getting an income than looking for a job while you are spending savings and severance.

Lenovo is done for and those jobs are not coming back.

Some good advice from @Z0XjsO3-9mra

The layoff package will be just followed local labor standard laws in Chinese area and Asia area. Intel server solution is not quite high technology required high salary designers like IBM did. Intel did provide canned solution to white box vendors.

As an experienced IT professional I would agree that it is best to look while you are still employed. Your negotiating position is much stronger, unless you just happen to get two offers in the same week while unemployed. Lenovo is continuing to reduce the lay-off benefit package, so it is really not worth staying until you get laid off.

I wonder if in China they complain about good Chinese jobs being offshored to overpaid American workers
