You are correct. In our area that covers a whole state, we went from 30 CO techs, 42 BMO techs and almost 100 CSTs, to 12 CO techs, 10 BMO techs, and 17 CSTs.

Engineers were all laid off and came back as contractors in six months. Cable, fiber and construction all done by contractors.

It will not be hard for them to shut down.

They have already petitioned the FCC to try and shed the copper in many areas. There hasn't been a decision as of this time. Expect that when and IF the FCC grants them this request, they will be able to simply abandon it, liquidate the buildings and assets and move on. In some areas there will be them actually "Giving" the plant to rivals, who in many cases surround our areas.

Here in one Florida area the entire CTL footprint is completely surrounded by AT&T who have over laaid fiber throughout the entire plant area, both buried and now a 3rd strand of fiber going up on poles throughout the county. can you say AT&T 5G ? Just look around you today as you go about your day , you'll know if your in danger by this....How many people did you see today CTL? how many in office or co buildings? how many on the street?

there are areas that could abandon the plant in a day they are almost abandoned now. No trucks, no people working in offices from CO to engineers etc EMPTY you may go for days without seeing anyone other than the guys you log in with in the morning. Don't kid yourselves they sre desperately trying to get out from under the copper umbrella

Someone that needs a good write down that want to shed it for converting the customer base. Knowing this company having a company that is a storefront to buy it and then split the company up in parcels and buy back territory again for the customer base for what they want and be creative on write offs and taxes.

Rumors are they will be sold by states, they will look at existing plant conditions, headcount, market potential, local regulations, market condition in regards to competition. I don’t see AT&T or Verizon looking at CTL, but AZ, WA and CO being snagged by a Equity firmly best guess by pennies by the Dollar. Fiber is key and this is where the $$$ is at. Also expect lots of management to lose their jobs so start posting Resumes comrades !!!!! Rock On
