Thread regarding Ford layoffs

This has dragged on, hasn't it?

What a way to inflict the maximum amount of pain on the worker. In my book, this is a prime example of mismanagement and executive negligence. Just venting a bit - I hope all is over soon!

Yep - the Pulse scores tell the tale. Hackett has failed to inspire, and his confusing I'm smarter than you abstract thinking got us in this position. Boston Consulting licked their chops and took millions to tell us we have too many people. Then management failed again in not being clear in any messages, hiding the truth, and taking way too long to settle things. Never seen such mismanagement. It will make a great Harvard Case Study some day.

Hackett and Robinson (Group VP of HR) proudly announced on all employee broadcast last October that we would restructure. Those of us that have seen other "restructures" by BCG know it is a huge wack job.

Hackett says we must be nimble to be competitive. If it takes 8 months is "nimble" and no decision yet, he is a failure.

How about the 47% score on mini-pulse survey?! Crickets. Not even acknowledgement that they blew it and lost he hearts of many great, long term employees.

I fluctuate between fear, anger and apathy. Each lasts about 3 days and then starts all over again. Been going on for 6, 8 months now.

I don't work for Ford but this whole thing appears to really s---. As some of you mentioned, try and look for a new job or try and attend some interviews if possible. This may, at the very least, help you feel like your moving forward or have other options. It can help cut back the anxiety a bit. I've had this same c-ap go on before, you will get through it, like having a tooth pulled but it will end. Stay strong.

Way too long. If decisions have already been made, then, the best thing for the employee to do is work on their resumes and waste time!

Not like I'm not leaving anyways after this dumpster-fire is done

Need to vent too. Just get the damn thing over with. Adding June\July is disgusting. Have we not waited long enough? Nerves are wrecked. My blood pressure is up. Go figure. Is this the norm for Boston Consulting Group? The executive branch should be ashamed. Lost respect for Ford. Need me to work extra hours ? FU

Been here for 5 years (1 as agency and 4 as gsr), spent countless unpaid/unlogged weekends and late nights on core-projects and programs... This whole secretive "smart redesign" has k--led my motivation and work ethic... I need to find another job asap before I lose all motivation for work...

Agree 100%. Trying to plan on summer vacation. Summer shutdown is only 6 weeks away, but am hesitant to book any travel plans. And as you know, the longer you wait, the more expensive it is.

Yeah, this is bullsh1t. Even if I'm still here after next week, working at Ford does not mean much to me any more. They have made this so much harder on their employees than it had to be. Does not seem like they really care about us any more, or they would have found a better/faster way to get this over with.

The not knowing if you should plan vacations, or make a purchase for this, etc, is annoying. It's like life is on hold.
