Thread regarding IBM layoffs

Three quarters of growth were the anomaly

22 straight quarters of declining revenue followed by 3 quarters of growth followed by 3 quarters of decline. Seems to me that if anything, the 3 quarters of growth were the anomaly. Driven almost entirely by the new mainframe release.

This. Sadly, the only constant for IBM these days is the drop in revenue. The way the company is being run, that's not likely to change. Don't put too much stock into those three months. That's unlikely to repeat any time soon.

Yeah, IBM is working tirelessly to get the next mainframe out (z15) so that this revenue can offset the failures elsewhere.

Even with the best economy of the last 20 years and the mainframe cycle, the company barely managed to turn revenue growth slightly positive for a mere three quarters. What happens in the next recession?

So sad, A very great company that is dying. From a 30+ year IBMer who loved this company as a young man. Ginni and BOD have ruined it. Look at the facts.

The three quarters were due to the mainframe cycle. Down down down from here.
