Other companies, other industries, anywhere but here. Pioneer doesn't have a bright future, anybody can see that. Hoping that that's going to change any time soon is naive at best.
Now is the time to leave. Even if you don't have good options, then start expanding your skills, make your field of possible replacement positions larger.
That's the only smart thing you can do right now.
I work for a once-respected independent and I've gotta say, I feel for you guys at PXD. Back when I was in school and interviewing with companies I used to think Pioneer was awesome, and where I wanted to be. Felt that way about the company I ended up with, too. So many E&Ps now are just a shell of their former selves, hanging on by the small thread of investor confidence that still remains. I really do have high hopes for y'all, even if that makes me naïve.
