I am dealing with a liar and a fraud and a hateful ex fired Cabela's employees. None of those statements were made and i will do the research and prove it. I am busy and it may be awhile to have the time to prove what was said. A very sad site we cant use this site for something where people discuss situations with the merger and way to improve the situation. That would be your worst nightmare however.

All should remember that Mr ALL CAPS said not to worry in the past...he has been wrong about every rumor. Cabelas won't be sold. Corporate won't be downsized. Jim and D--k don't want the company sold, No layoffs. SIdney will find other big businesses to fill gap. DC will remain open.

to the last poster the statements you made about the Cabela hatter was so true. Hopefully bass pro have hired extra security his post's are getting more dangerous every day.
Let review honest statements of the past and not the make believe YOU POST . I never once stated Cabela's would not be sold, I never once once stated there would be no down sizing of corporate, I never once stated there would be a big business move into Sidney to take Cabela's place . This was what was said .you said bass pro was simply buying Cabela's to eliminate a competitor and once the sale was completed bass pro would fire every Cabela's employee. I stated bass pro was paying almost five billion dollars for a company it is highly unlikely they would simply close every part of Cabela's paying this much. You stated this was an extremely easy merger to complete and the details of the merger would be completed very easy by January 1 of 2018 and every Cabela's employee would be fired by then. I stated this was a very large and complex merger that would take at least two years to complete after the sale. You always I would say to think of the worst possible outcome in every situation with Cabela's and I tried to look at the outcome which was the most likely and solutions which could perhaps help with the situation and I WAS INSULTED EVERY WAY POSSIBLE BY TO YOU TO PERHAPS IMPROVE THE SITUATION.

Look, telling people things are going to ok when they are not is not noble or helpful. When they close down this store, outfitters are going to be living in a town with no employment opportunities. Get out now. You won't regret moving to an area with better long term employment opportunities. You have to move to where the jobs are not cross your fingers and hope thing works out.
To the poster stating Sidney has always been an under preforming store. I somewhat agree. This was mainly due to the Cabela’s idea of granting all employees green sheet or can’t remember what the latest term was. This gave most everyone the right to purchase products at true Cabela’s cost. I can remember seeing numbers for the impact this had on Sidney metrics definitely not in the positive.
Biggest mistake they did was extending this outside of the MPI group.
I still agree with the overall thought though it’s just a matter of time before Sidney Retail is shuddered.
