Thread regarding Follett layoffs

Company culture going way downhill

I believe this company is going under. Where to start? The culture has gone from decent and fairly trustworthy of the lower management to paranoid about everything. It’s like working for a dystopian novel. In reality, the higher ups are out of touch, and their meddling makes everyone below them incapable of doing their jobs properly. I’m not sure why the higher ups think that turning this job into a common retail job is going to help sales, it’s not. Treat your people better

Why stay? Well going backwards is not an option for me.

Yes there are other jobs out there, but I can not afford to make less and that is what most companies are offering.

It is hard to do a job when you constantly feel that you have a target on your back. And before someone says, then why are you still here? There is more to a job then culture. Yes, it’s important, however, other aspects can out way culture. It’s really not that bad of a job. Just wished that senior management was as scrutinized as the rest of us are. We are under a microscope. It’s do this and do that or else. What a horrible, horrible, horrible model. Did I mention what a horrible model this is. A true sign of a great company and leadership is how your teams are treated durning the bad years. Follett, it is time to step up. Your senior management is not doing enough and the amount of turn over in your work force should be proof enough.

I appreciate your point of view. You're right. This isn't new, however. It's been true for nearly 6 years. This is what follett is. Why stay?
