“Do the needful.”

Project Fleet is a last-ditch effort of middle management for them to say they are doing something critical and stay in their jobs doing....nothing. Obviously this contributed to the outage reported by Bloomberg.

Also, TCS bossing Refinitiv staff... always a delight to witness.

@1gpt

Yeah it's always great to get called out by your biggest competitor. Fun times.

Comment by “Don’t mind me” hit the nail on the head.

While at TR any technical work that involved India ended badly.

I saw some bad outages caused by those guys over the years ....

They were like a bus driver who was amazing at driving buses and drove the bus from A to B on time every day. But when the bus had faulty brakes that was out of scope of his job and he drove the bus with faulty brakes until it crashed.

(Bloomberg) --Refinitiv, the former Thomson Reuters financial and risk business, said that users of its Eikon and FX trading platforms are having login difficulties, according to a spokesman

The problems started at the end of Asia trading: Refinitiv

“We are actively working to resolve the situation as soon as possible:” Refinitiv

Ahh, the half-arsed rush job known as Project Fleet. I can almost guarantee the outage is somehow related to several racks of critical login servers hosted in an expensive east coast US data center all being unplugged at one time to be physically moved and/or virtualized to a cheaper data center in the US southwest over one weekend (despite redundancy in other data centers.) I mean, what can possibly go wrong?! Nearly the entire project being handed on a silver platter to clueless TCS contractors in India hasn't helped matters either. If ELT is really planning to transfer Eikon support and other service support roles to India...well, this is just a small taste of things to come. Enjoy!

Let's see if any of the sun-lounging ELT are held accountable, or if they'll find a way to excuse themselves as always. Same old Reuters.

Ah just read on the FT new web page the outage has not impacted matching or FXAll and only some FXT users (the old Dealing). Sounds like whatever handles the common login for Eikon and FXT has issues.

Wow !

FXT down for 12 hours is a disaster.

The market liquidity will migrate to other market providers and not come back for days.

Is it matching / dealing and FXAll ?

Sounds like a huge network outage of some sort.
