Thread regarding Windstream Corp. layoffs

How long is this agony gonna last?

Some may not agree with me, but I just want this to be over with one way or another. How long do you think it will take for this to be over with, or at least until we have a more clear picture of the destiny of WIN. Don’t get me wrong, I’m hoping for the best, I jut don’t want death by a thousand cuts.

If they’re truly evaluating expenses they will look for the cheapest cost of sale. The channel has already been cut, and I expect the direct organization will be cut even more although the margin based comp plan is awful. On-net pays ok but we only have 100k miles of fiber.

Less sales reps and lower payouts with caps are enroute to a market near you.

As long as you work at Win you will be in pain. They will tell you every quarter how much things have gotten better when in fact they have gotten worse.

The plan that was mentioned was a 50% staff reduction across the board over the next 12 months. How we get there is anyone's guess.

That may include outsourcing, buy outs, early retirement, etc.

I also agree if you are not passively looking your an id--t. Most of us won't be here in the future, start planning now.

If you have an exit take it. Otherwise stay the course.
