Thread regarding Refinitiv layoffs

I would honestly be willing to bet any money that the person who wrote "Are You Serious?" is either someone in upper management or Human Resources. Someone out of touch and far removed from dealing with the day to day realities of this place.

Yes...we are serious. Maybe you work in a different department or are at a different level than the rest of us drones but there is serious discontentment in most areas of this company and for good reason. I would look at getting laid off as a blessing at this point. It is stressful interviewing for other jobs while working and using your own vacation/ sick time to do so while also dealing with the high level of stress and understaffing and lack of support at this lousy company with a corny name that is likely going to sell us off eventually anyway.

Pathetic. I have seen zero leadership at Refinitiv. Absolutely zero! Marketing doesn’t have a clue, HR is even more clueless. Tech development has been stagnant for years. Put it this way... black stone bought a lemon

Original post must have been made by some manager or brainwashed employee which is offered job whatever happens. This company become a joke, since day they announced the new name. Imagine how relevant is your CV when you write down that you worked for Refinitiv (do the same and use TR instead). Local handling of the whole process is also terrible, especially in Gdynia, people in management and HR acting like lost in space. Hope this whole thing will crash down faster so everyone will have its lifeboat around the corner. As this already is too much b---s--- to handle

They owned those assets for more than a decade, and those same assets continued their decline. They're in such terrible shape they had to be sold to vulture capitalists in order to milk any value from them. They should be proud of this?

My position was made redundant, backfilled in India. I loved TR but the way they handled the layoffs was done in poor taste. They had us all take the foolish Refinitiv pledge and two days later gave us our notices and sent us packing. They let go of a lot of good people. I think many will be going to competitors which is great! Maybe the competition actually cares about their employees.

This is regarding Refinitiv, not Reuters, which as you clearly stated has it's highs. So first, look at where you post. Second, company is handling layoffs in the worst possible way, so it's not a surprise people are angry - and it is about to get more interesting, when those layed off will hit the market with news/information how big nice Refinitiv handled this action.
