Thread regarding SAP layoffs

Internal positions

A few words to those who were laid off

These internal positions they posted and so generously allow us to apply to are also open to the public, as I do see them posted on indeed, linkedin and dice.

In addition, if you are being laid-off, you are also in direct competition with the other folks who are laid off AND folks who are looking for a change (those with jobs)

Hence your chances of landing anything is extremely slim, given the competition. So if HR keeps telling you, "look at all these positions - don't feel too dejected - given the odds stacked against you, it would a miracle if you landed a new role as easy as they make it sound like

@Z06cRLP-9yyl - I think your team members really lucked out - I am happy for them!! But take a look at the results of the overall "fake initiative" and you will agree that it is a sham by HR. Totally unethical!!

I don’t understand why SAP promote the most manipulative and horrible type of people. If SAP is failing, it’s because of the lousy leadership.

Our team of 10 had 4 that were rehired into other positions. It's not easy, but it also is not impossible.

The entire SAP HR is a sham and they will continue to operate the way they are because they are well protected. They should be ashamed of themselves for providing false hope to individuals that are already hurting. These job postings are already spoken for because they have specific individuals in mind already but HR has to post them to make themselves look good and to cover their butts. Meanwhile, they are wasting individuals' time by telling them to apply for the positions and go through the motion then tell them they are rejected again!! It is impossible to complete the hiring process within a month (from the time you are notified of your layoff to final exit date). Shame on you HR!!!

Very true. As much as we come here to rant. As a whole it would also be good to try to not apply for internal jobs if you already have one so folks affected could stand a chance.

Maybe it’s not so easy to do. Everyone is looking out for themselves.
