Thread regarding CenturyLink layoffs

Max is the death of the company for customer facing people

Max is the death of the company for customer facing people .Service orders and repairs anywhere from 2 to 6 weeks out depending on how busy the work load is.Lots of overtime if no overtime then shift changes and working out of normal shifts to accomadate work load,ie nights wekends and late shift, can you say 9 to 730pm. Six tens sometimes seven days aweek.seems like CO and Specials/BSTget the worst of it. We here in NC were five days 7 to 330 then max showed up.Now its Saturdays and Sundays at time and a half to support the work load.

Couldn’t agree more with @YwXmahD-1fid

My sympathies to all you poor b--tards converting to MAX this weekend. Time to start drinking heavily and get to the doctor for some heavy duty nerve meds. Welcome to our hell.

I have been a national field ops tech for years too. I don't know what company you worked for but must not have been ours. I am topped out at $71k, I get paid OT for all the ridiculous 3am cuts and 6am turnups, and all my 2000 miles a week driving. The only part i agree with is no life, no sleep.

I was a national field ops tech , 18 yrs . drove 3000 miles a month , no over time at all, was going to start CPE work with new L3. paid 49 K a yr. loved job except the long unpaid days driving 600 miles. let go with box. Installing new equipment 300 miles from home. liked it. it was a good low paying job for 18 yrs. miss the coffee shop meeting/ breaks. Don't miss the night work and then working with 3 to 4 hours sleep for the day and no overtime , no oncall pay, no raises worth more than 2 %. going to miss the 24 hour straight fiber cuts in the winter . in the summer, in the dirt . It was an adventure just like the Army. Always enjoyed talking to the Legacy local techs. We worked well together at 3 am testing the fiber splices. don't miss the new Management at all. find a new job .
