Thread regarding CenturyLink layoffs

How Bad Is Max?

Is MAX really as bad as it's been described here? Orders taking days to weeks to flow to the field and employees being put on performance plans because they don't have work because MAX isn't sending orders to the field. Does that really happen?

We're training on MAX this week with a scheduled roll out at the end of April.

I know for a fact Storey and the boys know MAX s---s and doesn't work. They can't admit defeat because at last count, they were up to 55 million installing it and trying to make it work. They have spent so much money, they can't go back to SS9 that worked.

That said, forty five percent of the workforce is on performance. Nobody has been fired for not making their numbers because they know it's the system and not the techs.

Thanks to max I have enjoyed much larger paychecks and doing only what is assigned. The extra ot it has caused more than makes up for Christmas bonuses. Life is good...

Click Max as it’s called in the winter park district was the final straw for me that made me take the enhanced severance package last June. The first month it was implemented my entire wire center failed our metrics. This was the first time in 19 1/2 years I had not made my numbers.

When I raised the question to the supervisor about everyone failing throughout the district pretty much he just pretty much said this is the way it’s got to be you guys need to work harder and faster.

Oh by the way, click to chat “text assignment” and then get dropped off after 40 minutes and it’s my fault? So glad I left! I Still talk to my old friends who are still there and they are miserable! Company trying to shaft them with a 1.5% raise each year of the contract right now!

You fake it. Then, you get put on poor performance plan because you aren't doing five jobs a day.

So if you only get 2-3 tickets a day and they took away general/maintenance tickets how do you get your 8 hrs everyday?

Yes, unfortunately MAX is as bad as everyone is saying. In your training I am sure they were so positive, not making a big deal of it. Hold on to your hat, it wont be good for any of you, I hope I am wrong, but Ive been around it for sometime, and its time to look for a different job, havent seen any improvement. Best wishes.

Just went through Max training. We thought ss9 was bad. I see now why you guys all hate Max. If it works as bad as you all say it is time to get out of here.

Well said by "The Truth" !! It was explained perfectly!! That is exactly what I have seen, in many areas. I can't agree with what he said!! As for the p-ss-d off customers, good luck with them, can't say I blame them one bit. I would also get calls at home. As he said get your resume up to date. Best of luck to you all, glad I am not there, now I can once again sleep at night.

You will all want to k--l yourselves. Get ready to start working 6 or 7 12 hour days. Get ready to meet more p-ss-d customers than you have ever seen before. Get ready to be on the 11pm news with an on-your-side investigation on why it takes 5-6 weeks to get your line fixed or service installed. Get ready for more utility commission reports than you have ever seen.

Then, wait till people start coming up to you while parked or working on a job ranting and raving because they have been waiting a month to get their phone fixed. Forget going into ANY resturant to eat because you will get swarmed by p-ss-d customers. We tried hiding the truck and changing into a regular shirt, but they got wise to that and started waiting at the truck to give us hell when we come out.

Your boss and his boss will do their nest to convince you it works and all is well. It will be obvious things are not well.

But, there is good news. It only takes about 4-6 months for the p-ss-d cistomers to leave to another company, and the ones who haven't been maxes yet leave also, because they see the horror stories on TV. Then, you will go to one or two jobs a day because everone that has a choice leaves.

Eventually you will be put on a performance plan because you aren't doing their five good jobs a day. They will tell you pull futures, but the only problem is there are non. Everyone ends up on performance. Then, if you have a decent SRO he will have you create company demand tickets to make up work. BUT, then the MRO will tell him you can't make up tickets. It is a no win application to get rid of customers and technicians.

Start looking for a job now. Get a resume on Indeed and Monster with the rest of us.

"Max is the death of the company for customer facing people .Service orders and repairs anywhere from 2 to 6 weeks out depending on how busy the work load is.Lots of overtime if no overtime then shift changes and working out of normal shifts to accomadate work load,ie nights wekends and late shift, can you say 9 to 730pm. Six tens sometimes seven days aweek.seems like CO and Specials/BSTget the worst of it. We here in NC were five days 7 to 330 then max showed up.Now its Saturdays and Sundays at time and a half to support the work load."

That should be interesting since they have untrained contractors everywhere and are understaffed in most Metro areas in the C.O.s yet are doing VSPP and I am sure it will be followed by a Surplus. One Company one Culture however and make sure you have your Green Chip :)

Yes, Max really is as bad as you have heard, sometimes it takes weeks to get repairs done, and it doesn't matter if they are 90 + years old with no cell phone. The company does not care and I know it is very obvious after working with MAX. Dispatches hands are tied, unable to help the techs any longer, they get yelled at. No longer a place to be proud to work at, in fact it is embarrassing. Good luck to you with the new and improved dispatch system.

Any copper supporting entities (Residential- to-Enterprise-biz) is on borrowed time. It appears as Lvl3 changes are rolling through various departments, a division is occurring - copper and optical. Suspect a spin off on copper groups (union and/or management) As others have noted - Centurylink is falling apart from the inside out and the pace is increasing. Or are they running the company into the ground to get a government bail out. The insanity is at new levels.

The goal is to lose residential lines. Copper should have been gone nearly 20 years ago. CTL is late to every game.

Its too late for this now max has taken over. Just start looking for another job this company is lost. The executives are taking any value left with each parachute.
