Thread regarding DXC Technology layoffs

DXC removing older people even if skilled

Be careful when taking roles with DXC. They are very aggressive cost cutters and do not care for their employees. Ignore capabilities, do not value good performance, ruthlessly cost cut and remove valuable resources and replace with cheap resources. Further evidence are the very poor systems of record; despite claiming being a technology leader, the internal systems are archaic and cost individuals a lot of time and are not productive. Going through massive change, yet still wedded to old convoluted processes and procedures arising from legacy companies CSC and HPE.

Not a good company to work for.

As an ex DXC employee aged 50+ and with 30+ years experience I am very thankful to have been WFR'd by Mikey. Having left DXC I now have less stress, less health issues, a 40% pay rise due to contract work, more freedom to excel in my field, less BS to deal with and no more need to do useless training like that Spartans rubbish which was total b0llucks.

For Mikey's spies on this forum - please get rid of more experienced employees so DXC sinks faster in the greedy cesspool for Mikey's retirement fund.

DXC USA - The logical outcome of greedy unchecked capitalism:

people laid off IN ONE DAY (because they can) for the sake of making few more millions to top management.

This is what happens when people destroy unions (or let it be destroyed) and worships millionaires and corporations. Feel the consequences now. In a 1 on 1 with your boss tell me who wins...

You reap what you sow - I only regret the fact those practices are slowly being encouraged and implemented in Europe because of the USA giving a terrible example and habits to those corporations.

A mix of old and new is a good thing, but the key point here is "a Mix". How can we be a Digital company if we have people sitting in offices together, how is that "digital transformation" . Our people should be at home and meet though the cloud for day in and day out work.

Got accepted for VR, offered because of my age, location and grade,

Told customer contacts I was going on last day, including their CTO who I worked closely with. Within a week they gave notice to terminate the contract. DXC knew that the customer wanted to go and had a replacement supplier lined up but couldn't afford the early termination fee and so needed DXC to give them cause to terminate by breaching the contract.

DXC forgot that the contract said they had to provide fully qualified staff in one very specialised area who had to be UK nationals, bit of an oversight as the only other available person who meets the criteria is a former colleague who left before me and wouldn't come back - they tried.

At least we know one old person they are not removing even though he is unskilled. May be he is too busy getting his steak cut.

Investor comments in last 4 months (yahoo finance)

"s DXC Technology going to start sharing some of their Federal Tax savings onto the employees? So many companies gave bonuses to their employees shortly after the reduction, but not DXC. Why not?"

"Sure glad I got stopped out of most of my shares in September at $95. Shocked to see this fall so far. Now I just need to figure out when to sell the rest. I thought earnings were increasing in leaps and bounds last year....what happened?"

"Why does DXC Technologies (DXC) keep buying other companies while the DXC stock has lost half of its value?"

"Is Mike Lawrie doing the limbo, seeing how low he can take the share price?"

"will this go up, or did I make a mistake buying more at 93"

"Mike Laurie can't blame the senior leaders, or the strategy, he was directly responsible for the appointment of the senior leaders and the development of the strategy. Now the challenge is to hire new staff when feedback from existing employees is that it isn't a great place to work."

"Most of the profit seen in reports is due to one time accounting tricks, not improvements in sales or earnings. At some point, they will be like Enron, and implode."

"Shocked to see this fall so far. Now I just need to figure out when to sell the rest. I thought earnings were increasing in leaps and bounds last year....what happened?" (2 months ago, following the termination of Karin Puri)

"What is DXC management not telling everyone? Was it just profit taking from 100+ to 57? If all the numbers are good, then why the selling? Just trying to understand this." (4 months ago)

DXC has a hit squad that WFR's in some part of the company every week regardless of the work, revenue or skill of those involved. But the leaders are making $millions$

Out with the old, experienced, expensive!! Folks and in with the young, cheap, eager and inexperienced.

Serving the clients effective is secondary, it’s all about perception for Wall Street......”yes we’ve cut deep to reduce costs but don’t worry we are hiring thousands to our digital transformation centers”
