All major groups impacted, 1000s of jobs will be lost - Kay Jewelers, Zales, Jared the Galleria of Jewelry and Piercing Pagoda - this is bad. We have about 3000 stores so this boils down to about 2% - so, not that bad but still it's a warning of things to come - it'll be really hard going forward as people shift.
Does anyone have a list of stores that will close?
Not only lay offs, closing stores, but cutting costs, and the repair centers are just ridiculous. I took my jewelry to be fixed and they didn’t fix it because I didn’t want to replace a tiny little stone. Shouldn’t it be my choice if I want to fix my bracelet without replacing a melee stone? And on top the estimate was so ridiculous and outrageous! I finally had it fixed in Helzberg for a fraction of the estimate, and they didn’t try to force me to replace the stone like Zales did...
