Looking at the latest (salaried involuntary reduction policy) it no longer states that contractor or purchased services should be let go first before a GSR, so I guess they can outsource all of the work and pay top dollar.

@YrDHZ42-irf, it is not because immigrants are coming into the country that your job isn't safe. Your job isn't safe because a few wealthy people decided that profits of a company need to be maximized at all costs, even sh1tcanning massive numbers of workers who haven't done anything wrong. Blaming the problems of a society on some group of foreigners or immigrants is an old trope that goes back for decades if not centuries, and people continue to fall for it.
Jim Hackett made $18 million last year, which is probably anywhere from 150 to 200 times what you made. And you have no problem with that, and instead think the fact that your livelihood isn't safe is somehow the fault if some workers on visas? Get a clue. It's not the workers on visas. It's the people at the top who take everything and leave all of the rest of us fighting over the crumbs that are left over.
Ford employees have legacy costs - anyone before 2004 has a pension. Ford employees also require health care, life insurance, vacation days, etc. All benefits increase costs and must be administered. Agency and purchased service is a flat fee. example: if you pay an agency head $80k annually, then it is $80k annually. A salaried employee with an annual pay of $80k? The cost is more like $110k annually. Go to your annual compensation breakdown, you will see it is more than just salary.
Get your facts straight. They're called the TN visas and it's not any cheaper to hire a Canadian VS a US citizen.

Contractors are cheap especially the H1b candidates along with workers from Canada and Mexico using T1 visas... you want to save your jobs get the right political party to limit these fcking visas
