Thread regarding Sears layoffs

So basically Eddie's new idea is a larger version of the Sears Home Appliance Showroom?

I had one of these in my area, they've sold appliances and mattresses for years. They're not affiliated with Sears proper, and one curious thing about them is that I've never ever seen a single customer wandering around in one. I've always imagined they've done business by working with home builders since we're in an area where a lot of new home construction is going on. Seriously, good luck with that. Looking at Google, most of them seem to have died an ignoble death, probably because they couldn't get any inventory due to Eddie's charming personality and complete failure as a human being.

This is what, the 15th small store format Sears has tried? One of them was even called Sears Homelife. Sears' problems lie in it's supply chain efficiency and inability to compete on scale, marketing, customer service, branding, and ability to negotiate the best deals with the best vendors at the best prices with customers while delivering on time with free same day shipping in the right markets. Meanwhile Eddie "I turned my $55B startup into a $5B sinkhole I purchased with other people's money" Lampert is aware of none of this, and is vehemently opposed to spending a penny to anyone who suggests doing anything that works towards this. Ace Hardware's time has already past. Sears has lost its most important currency, trust. Eddie Lampert has a credit rating, and it is as low as low can get.
