Sounds like its a business process outsource operation. Surprised Mikey didn't bin that back in his early days at CSC when he binned all of the "non-core" business such as the employment agency, flood insurance, federal sector (in its entirety) and all of the military contractor business (the questionable DynCorps and their probable illegal activities).

Yes, CSC used to be quite the diverse operation before Mikey got involved.

CSC Logic is a subsidiary. It was acquired back in the 90s I think. They’re part of BPS deliver on the banking side and mostly handle the loan servicing life cycle - mostly auto loans. Since it’s not software development, it’s mostly forgotten in site planning, and since upper management is clueless about the business model, staffing has been cut well below the level needed to effectively service the existing contracts. About a year ago there was a big town hall where some exec talked about pouring more resources into loan servicing since there was potential for growth in that market. Unfortunately, what small amount of funding was received resulted in a cosmetic update to the website, a minimally helpful chat bot, and absolutely no improvements to the tools that employees use. There was a small team that tried to push some improvements to increase automation, but upper management was so fixated on moving jobs to Bangalore and Manila that they would allow for any money to be spent with on these upgrades. Just another small corner of wasted potential. These teams have people who have worked with the company for decades, but their loyalty is repaid just as you’d expect - overworked due to understaffing and archaic tools, no path for promotion, no raises or bonuses, and a continued threat of lay-off. Really, sometimes it seems like upper management is just slowly working toward shutting it down. Now, we just hang on in hope of a severance package and cheer for the lucky few who find a way out.

There must be so many vacancies in Accounts Payable as DXC is simply not paying the bills on time.

Unless you have a detailed script/flowchart you can’t train most of the offshore folks. Once something goes off the script most don’t have a clue on how to debug and move forward.

I think it comes with full 88 keys, 2 foot pedals and a sequencer. It plays one song then collapses.

I trained my replacement, told them complete and utter BS about what was needed to be done and by when, and the process to be used, even the key stakeholders (told them to get input from the people expecting the output). They didn't check anything before I was WFRéd or validate the training and handover was complete.
