Simple fact, large SIs cannot compete in security services. Security will always be a small, niche in comparison to large service areas. Arbitrarily underfunded, with unrealistic objectives and low to no promotion. Clients choose expertise over price in security services. They turn to professional services from the vendor, not a cross trained analyst in some off shore location. Also, security is a trust business. Outsourcing protection of data, apps and workloads to risky countries, regions, is very risky.
For clarity, the cuts will come from the client facing practice. Totally unrelated to the corporate security team that looks after DXC operations. The customers get screwed in the end. Also of note, the practice was approached to sell, DXC declined to sell. Dumb move.
Looking forward to DXC being unable to react to security incidents cos all of the hardworking security folk are gone.
