Thread regarding Windstream Corp. layoffs

Third party carriers dropping WS as an access provider

As part of our Comcast Business Ethernet service, certain Ethernet circuits were previously delivered by a third party access provider who recently filed for bankruptcy. Our priority is to avoid disruption to your service due to this event and, as a result of this, we will coordinate the installation of an additional Ethernet circuit at your business site(s). Please note, there will be no additional cost to your business for this secondary circuit.

I will reach out to you to discuss the overall process and agree on a date and time to carry out this endeavor. If construction is needed, our team will work directly with the appropriate stakeholders to identify the approved plan for construction and to begin the process of securing any necessary permits. Once these steps are complete, I will schedule another date and time with you to fulfill the service installation.

We know any change to your service can be frustrating; however, rest assured we will work diligently to make sure there is no downtime to your business or impact to your other Comcast provided services. We are committed to maintaining the satisfaction and support you have come to expect from us.

Email being sent to customers who have Comcast business that use WS as a 3rd party access provider.

"We're on the right path, thats what i read on stream."

They have been correct every time they post this on Stream - they are actually on the right path. It was first the right path to Chapter 11, then the right path to being delisted. Now WIN is on the right path to emerge from Chapter 11 and start being carved up. And a few WIN executives will get cushy jobs with the FCC or similar telecom entities.

But yes, WIN is on the right path!!

I have already heard similar issues internally. I would hate to work in planning or access right now.

I am sure we are going to have to pre-pay or push out intervals for 90+ days until we are out of ch 11. If I were another carrier I would not provide service unless WIN pre-paid. We are working on re-negotiating all of our contracts right now, some carrier WILL NOT renew. They will get dropped and we will no longer have access to them as a provider.

Probably many of the PSAP's that currently use WIN for their circuits are investigating or will soon investigate moving their circuits to a stable telco, or at least have some backup circuits just in case.

ATT, Centurylink and others are already probably reaching out to these important call centers, can't have 911 always going down because somebody at WIN didn't pay the power bill that kept the circuit running.

Doesn't this violate WE's (we're Comcast's customer) CPNI? It could be worth a few million to whatever is left after bankruptcy.
