What happened to all the supposed big layoffs? Why didn't they happen? Can't wait for more rumours and lies.

RIFs having been happening. Not large numbers but they are happening. You're too blind to notice because you're on this stupid site. Steve wanted STX to be in the 30k employee level. He said it at the all hands and probably on some 8k from years ago.
Wrong again Chuckles. There are no layoffs this year. Seagate is going to need every body they have to fill orders and another awesome quarter.
Easier to do piecemeal, make it look like natural attrition. Keeps it away from folks that could be impacted by seeing their co-workers being removed.
Fake news generate by those trying to prevent America from being great again.
Like 1mjy says in his post: Looks like this year Seagate is going to build the total head count to be around 45,000.
Congrats to all you hardworking chaps.
Number of employees (10K filings)
2012 57900
2015 52000
2016 45000
2017 41000
2018 43000
2019 ??
One can fit a very nice trendline (almost perfect fit)- the slope is 2900 employees less each year. So for the next 10K statement -> 40 000 employees
