How many others are in the same boat? I'm starting to think there is more of us who are getting ready to leave than those who are planning to stay here.

I'm 55 and almost made an appointment with my LL3 to tell her to put my name on the "to go" list and save someone else, but my wife talked me out of it. If I get tapped I'm ready to retire. If not, I'm gone in two years max, anyway. I've taken 7 vacation days and several sick/personal days in the past month. Really, what do they expect? 27 years and it ends like this...

Go to HR Online and read the SIRP. As others mentioned do not leave a lot of money on the table. If you have only have a month of severance, then maybe a month is not worth the stress. You will need to sort that out for yourself. One guy in our building took 3 weeks of vacation and started a new job May 6th to see if he liked it before he quits. Yep he knows it violates policy. He is past caring. He is hoping to like the new job and get a severance package.

Nope. I'm a GSR with 31 years in the bank. I'm 55 and would like to go at least another 7 years. They'll have to push me out the door (LOL). My situation is a little different . I'm a field employee, not working in central office.
Whatever you do don’t quit by all means. Focus on anything else and de prioritize Ford. Let them lay you off with a package. Unless you find another job in the meantime that is better.
The problem isn’t Ford it’s unskilled or paper-pushers occupying a cube with no skills. Get skills and you can choose your destiny. Instead of being at the mercy of the man. And learn to save.
I'm not convinced it would be much better anywhere else. I think people are too set in the assumption that this is a Ford problem. I don't think it is. It's a problem with the broader economy. The middle class is getting squeezed into nothing. Good paying, secure jobs are becoming a thing of the past.
I'm just going to hold onto this as long as I can, because I don't believe it'd be much better anywhere else. And if I do get let go, then I'll figure it out. I'm in my early 30s and I've accepted that I'm never going to be very wealthy or monetarily prosperous. All I want is to save up enough to pay off my modest sub $100k house, and then at least I'll never be homeless. The rest of it, nice cars, bigger house, second vacation house... F*ck it. It's not worth the struggle you have to go through to get it any more. The game is rigged against the working class and I'm not going to play it any more. I'm finding ways to be happy outside of having a lot of money or a promotion.
Do not quit. That is what the company wants. Call in sick. Remember the great Green Bay Packer is quoted “Quitters are losers.” Fight for your money.
