Thread regarding Thomson Reuters layoffs

This should not be a site to bash others

I've been reading the posts on this site since November 2018 when my position was eliminated after almost 30 years with WG&L and it subsequent incarnations. I don't understand people who use this forum to belittle the concerns of others. Too many posts and replies (always hiding behind "Anonymous") accuse people of whining or complaining. This is a site about layoffs--of course people on here will be scared or confused. It should be a place to share useful information, not to judge or disparage. "Be kind. Try hard." Linda Ronstadt

It seems that the trolls are actually doing the whining.

Careful trolls, you may be next. And remember - the love or hate you send out into the world will boomerang. It shows your heart or lack of it. Karma.

Rob you were a hard worker and a real gentleman . You were working hard the very last day you were at TR (New Year’s Eve). You were always well dressed which showed your respect for the job and self respect. When they let you go they lost tons of experience.

The Corporate Culture changed -and for the worse- when Thomson became Thomson Reuters and it was so predictable. I am too old to leave but those young enough should try to get better jobs. It might take awhile but finding another job should be your primary job and doing the minimum necessary to get your work done competently at TR should be your second job.

It sounds like a lot people here want a hug, a cat, or some therapy. Come on, the writing has been on the walls for 10 years. Its not like you should be surprised. You are not getting mugged here. The place has been slowly getting worse, and you chose to stay. Why??? Easy life thats why. Its on you!

Didnt your parents ever teach you personal responsibility??? Why are you here if it makes you need therapy??

Some of the troll comments are actually true, there is a tom of whining here. TR and repukative are sinking ships. Quit whining and leave. What is whining going to do for you? Seriously?

Agreed. There are a lot of people here who are concerned for their livelihood, some compassion wouldn't go astray. No one wants to be in this boat. Let's face it, no one likes feeling that their jobs are threatened, let's just cool it on the insults and offer support.

I hope you land on your feet Rob. The layoffs were, in many cases, random. It literally could have happened to any of us. Those posting nasty things would be the 1st to "whine" if it happened to them. Take care
