Carepass

Anyone else having trouble signing up people for carepass? I keep asking and always get turned down. DL is all about carepass right now and my store is struggling signing people up. Anyone have good advice on how to upsell this to customers?

To the previous poster, you hit the nail right on the head! We are badgering our customers by asking them TOO many questions, and now here sign up for this “paid service” and oh, you need a credit card to sign up for this. This carepass is only due to Amazon buying Pillpack.

Do you want to donate to the American lung association? Do you want to update your email? Please confirm the gift card acknowledgement by hitting the green button? Oh also do you want to sign up for carepass?

Here's an easy way. I k ow that couponers are a royal pain in the a-- ,however these are the ones that will gobble this program up.

The most successful cashier in my store pitches it to customers with large baskets as “Would you like to save $10 today?” If they say yes, she starts explaining the benefits (pay $5 a month & receive $10 extra bucks). My pharmacy is also reaching out to any delivery customers to inform them of free delivery- if they get 2 deliveries a month, Carepass pays for itself.

We’re not any where near 1 enrollment/day, but we get 4-5 a week.

Ok, I understand that you can't force people to join. That doesn't really answer my question though. I was looking for tips on how to convince people to join. I'm not really a great salesman and don't know if I quite have the best pitch for this.

Bear in mind people, that you can't FORCE someone to sign up for something they don't want to. Something of course that cvs doesn't understand. For example, our last DL hounded us to death about e-mail collections. He wanted to make sure we got EVERY LAST email we could possibly get. And there were quite a few customers that had emails but didn't want to give them out. That was not an answer the DL wanted to hear. His response was that you didn't try hard enough. In his mind there was no customer that didn't want to give out an email, and carepass will end up being the same idea. As in "Who wouldn't want to sign up for this?" Except there are still customers who don't want it. You can lead a horse to water but you can't make them drink.

ok, because I might get a regional visit in a few weeks and my DL said that she will be addressing the lack of sign ups.

Dont worry so much about it. Division 1 signed up 82 yesterday (1100 stores). That was their highest total recently. Normally they are lingering around high 30's. Division 2 was 68 and 4 was 62.

The program is a failure.

The whole reason behind Carepass to begin with, was due to Amazon’s purchase of Pillpack.
