Drilling Fluids seems to be the one stable product for SLB. You can't drill a well without drilling Mud. Just need to get the management of drilling fluids right so that they hire and keep the right people. Managers tend to hire people that are similar in background to themselves. For example, if you suffered climbing your way up the ladder and don't have a college degree and now you have made it as a manager, you may want to hire or promote someone like yourself. Don't do it. You were the exception. Hire educated people and train them and make sure they don't have to suffer like you did on the way up the ladder.

They are losing money because you can’t run a mud company with millennial google fantasists
Another company that had been taken apart and destroyed by SLB incompetence
We should have stayed with the 49% equity stake and left it alone
Because it makes more money than the millennial BS.
Seems the company did a lot better when the neanderthals were in charge compared to you sorry lot.
We need to divest this Industrial Age business and focus on tech opportunities
Our millenial tech culture does not fit with a 50 something group of Neanderthals
Both also employ a high percentage of curry munchers.
The only thing Google-esque about Big Blue is the extreme working hours.
google-esque culture? Give me a break, you have serious delusions of grandeur if you think SLB is anywhere close to being google.

Back in the day, hiring guys with rig experience was part of what M-I as successful as it was. Maybe you can't do that any more, but hard working people with real hands-on experience is what M-I the top mud company for many years. When they started hiring all college grads with no desire to put in time in the field is when the downfall started.
