Thread regarding Nestle layoffs

Maybe if we would speak up more things would be better

It's funny to read all the comments on people complaining about each others work ethics. I can honestly say when we have our yearly meeting with upper management everyone sits there with there mouth shut with nothing to say when asked about how everything is going. And there is always that one employee who says everything is perfect. Maybe if we would speak up more things would be better. I have nothing bad to say about my co workers they are like family to me. Too all my nestle people I hope we get good news tomorrow.

The reason no one speaks up can be summed up in what my father told me once. He was a life long union guy. They would have union local meetings, and I asked him once if he ever said anything about the things he used to swear about at home. He told me: "Why bother? The union is not interested, management is not interested, and anything said negative in the meeting gets reported by a spy to management." Most people already know that management does not care, and it is nothing more than the classic 'smoke and mirrors' feel good session.

That is because those round table meetings are just a dog and pony show. Anything that is addressed never gets resolved. It’s just another way that they check the box and feign interest in front line issues. Any notes get filed in the circular folder.
