Thread regarding Ford layoffs

Fairlane Mall will be a ghost town

I am hearing that the employees at Fairlane mall are going to take a huge hit and that the few remaining will be moving back out soon.

Also talking to many business owners in the area and they are fearing that after these firings, many may only be able to survive to the end of the year. Not just Ford employees who will be hurt with this round of cuts.

Towncenter Offices @ the mall are nicer than any building on campus. Most buildings on campus were built in the 50s. Ford should buy the entire mall and move the entire campus there.

A good place for the US Navy Seals to practice and train in. Once done bomb it. Do not forget to get rid of the no brand bankrupt former Hyatt Hotel. Both these properties were state of the art in 1975. Like old sports stadiums, they must be removed, and make way for the future.

Yea I don't think they will be axing purchasing anytime soon... they could very well move them to Mexico, but usually they make purchasing train their replacements before letting anyone go. Calling BS on this one..

I guess they are getting rid of the entire purchasing department then. LOL. What a troll.

Shame- so much new construction on MI Ave. Does this mean the campus transformation is dead?

Fairlane is still open? Dearborn is a shell of what it once was. Like Detroit. God only knows why anyone outside DTW would want to come there to work at Ford! My condolences to those still in that prison. Anyone getting a package 2 weeks from tomorrow should be celebrating.
