I don’t want to talk about the unions, politics or anything similar, but the fact is that Ford is an international corporation, and when the company cuts, of course they’re going to do it where it’s most easy to cut. It’s also a fact that the US has the weakest labour laws and the weakest worker protection. Why do we always have to be collateral damage of the lack of legal protection for the employee?

I've done alot for my company, unfortunately it's not about the work you do it's how you play the game. So now all I work on is how to cherry pick the best projects and play the game. Personally, I think unions are now necessary for working professionals, based on your comments the company has not screwed you yet, but they will. You will then have a different attitude about " The Free Market "! Lol. In addition, I've also taken the attitude not to buy much of anything, my sole purpose now is be a seller rather than a consumer.
The free market determines what you are worth not legal. Whining over “deserving” a $100,000 salaried job, really?
What exactly have you done to earn and deserve such protection? You're entitled to the compensation you receive for the work you do with each paycheck you receive. Anything else is an undeserved sense of entitlement.
