Anyone else getting sick on Sunday knowing they have to go to work on Monday? The environment is horrible. In my entire career I have not seen it so bad. I know of one LL6 that was let go last week. Am I next?

piy - I have seen many good productive employees let go and the butt kissing backstabbers get promoted.
I survived 4 cutbacks. This is the only one that keeps me up at night. Age and years of service puts me in the target range. Hate to see how Ford has changed.
Use a personal day on Monday, use the time to prepare your resume and finances, you will feel better. They are a benefit. You have ten. On my team six people have used all ten of them. The remainder have used half of their days.
@YUDdINx-piy you are either a troll or quite naive. Some of the best and most productive people have gotten caught in the net. It is the same ole story the career politicians protect their own and sacrifice the people actually doing work, as they are threatened by skillful people. A friend of mine got blind-sided. He was stunned, then bitter, and now has realized he is better off. A young coworker got let go as well. He had just bought a house and was always spouting off in meeting chats about how all the old farts needed to go- bad move as his LL6 and those above are old farts, who are still here.
OP we all feel that way at Ford. The only people that don't feel that way are the ones backstabbing and a**s kissing their way to what they hope is a secure position.
What I am doing is preparing for the worst. I am assuming I am on the hit list and having my short term, and long term plans ready.
Short term: gather up living expenses through whatever means for six months. Clean up my resume and Linked in, doing research on buzz words in job postings, and shaving old jobs off of the resume. Applying for jobs I am a good fit for, regardless of whether they are in Michigan or not.
Long term: Remember what gives me joy and focus on that in my life. Stay employed in a series of jobs and say goodbye to the notion of a "career". It's all just work.
Innocent people get caught up in large layoffs, but that is an outlier. At Ford there is probably someone who is more expensive and less productive than you. Good luck to all of us.
IMHO, the best thing to do is to continue performing admirably. Stand strong, tall, and proud. Also, and first and foremost, ensure that no matter what happens, you and your family are protected. The social contract is simple: you are on your own. Plan and execute accordingly.
If you are doing your job like you should be, then you should not be worrying. Those that poor performers should be leaving the company.
