How does Ford expect to grow when their employees are their biggest customers? Once they lay off everyone they are going to lose a large segment of their customer base since I know most families including mine will not be buying Ford anymore. Maybe if they stopped wasting money on Hacketts other stupid projects and his salary then they would not be in this situation. People use to buy Ford because they were loyal to the company for the good jobs they provided their families for generations. That loyalty is all but gone now. They will be buying from other companies that are much more affordable and provide real innovation. I have tried to be loyal but look forward to being fired so that I can expand my horizons get a new job and be proud of where I work again. Sad that it has come to this after 20 years of service to this company.

Not anymore my friend
We just bought a Camry. Not out of spite or disillusionment, but because we wanted a reliable sedan and the Camry fit our needs. We looked at the fusion, but decided if Ford thought it wasn’t worth manufacturing, we shouldn’t buy it.
Listening to the town hall Hackett seems to think vehicles will get cheaper and cheaper over time as they won’t need any safety features or human controls as the vehicles will all be autonomous. Professor Moonbeam obviously hasn’t paid attention to software and firmware costs and limitations. And associated legal costs.
Would be curious to see how sales and leasing are doing for Ford and GM in Metro Detroit. With the 1000's of lost white collar jobs at GM and the uncertainty of impending job cuts at Ford you would think sales would be off in the Detroit area. Do people want to lease or make a new purchase if they are not sure about the future of their job?
When I was laid off from GM, I bought a Honda. This was 10 years ago. They are obviously still around.

It’s sad, however it doesn’t matter as the company already doesn’t have the vehicle lineup that the family requires unless your looking for a F150 or an upscale SUV. It’s a disgrace what has happened in a short two years. Company and culture is absolutely Brutal. I’m so glad Jim enlightened the company on the “7 Truths” WTF.....,
