Thread regarding Ford layoffs

May could be brutal

It could be worse than expected, 10-50%. After 1 month offer you contract position.

3ccj There is a definite ranking scheme within Achiever. The TA, A, LA just masks the ranking scheme. The 13 panel spreadsheet definitely ranks people into one of the boxes.

In our area we were pressured to give TAs to LL5’s favored sons. All areas are different depending on the integrity of the LL5 and LL6s in the PDC. We were explicitly told by our LL5 to bucket the GSRs he found threatening into the lowest achiever box even tho they were the best at their jobs. He called it leaving breadcrumbs for HR. I voted my conscious, but in the end was overruled by the majority wanting to do LL5’s bidding.

You realize that 90% of the population gets the same PR rating, right? 90% Achiever, no more than 10% High Achiever. No requirement to have any Low Achievers, and I've never seen one given in my 17 years as an LL6. There is no real way to cull the low performers, since there is no metric to identify the low performers to HR. If you can manage to avoid being subject to a PIP (Performance Improvement Plan), they can't tell you from Adam.

Oh, and in my experience the High Achiever ratings at the GSR level were cycled through the same ten or so engineers, year after year. They're so rare that it's impossible to give one to anyone who's not a virtual engineering god, so the same people get them over and over.

That is not what Hackett had said. Hunger Games / Endgame . Flip a coin it is all a hot mess engineered by the good ole boys club. Are you sure that the fools who gave bad reviews in the mini-pulse are not now targets? No wonder there is so little trust in Ford leadership.

I've heard from a reliable source that agency people will be hit the hardest and low performing Ford people. It will be based on years in service and performance reviews.

I will say that I worked for a large chemical company and probably 70% of people are on contract. I worked with people who had been on 6 month - 1 year contracts for 10-20 years. If Ford does this say good bye to talent/employee retention.
