We are in a state where GIS and Directs were either non existent or laughable and our channel has increased sales/service and profitability 60%. We are the biggest player by far and I personally need to thank Xerox for what they have done.

I know several folks on here have been hurt in negative ways and I am sorry for that. However, in some realms, what has happened has definitely been a benefit to some.

Direct or GIS, we all got and are getting the royal FU from Xerox!

With all the greed and mis-management at the top this ship has been slowly taking on water for years, get your life preserver on and abandon ship!

Being dismantled because Carl and John think it’s is too costly to have duplication of sales , service and back office processes. It’s not any more complex that’s that. Get off your pedestal. Grow up and quit embarrassing your GIS “family” please

Every part of Xerox that wasn’t a “core” is viewed as “Xerox direct”

No knowledge or awareness of how things worked, how or where decisions were made, how costs were/are allocated. Who did what to keep products and services in the market. A very simple view of the world makes life grand.

I agree that the GIS v Direct pissing match should be over. I was disappointed that some GIS people believe everything their leaders tell them and make Garbage comments on the thread. It’s wrong, and disrespectful of the talented and hard working people on the front lines.

As an administrator who supported both when applicable, I can tell you both the Direct and GIS have great people. My experience was/is mostly with Direct but I know both cared/care greatly for their customers as do those that support them. There shouldn’t be a p****ng contest with respect to the sales organizations. Both work their tails off to keep us in business, and neither are responsible for the current state of affairs. Thanks to all channels for your hard work past and present.

The outsourced sales organization is now being outsourced. I’d call that cost cutting Karma.

Omg GIS employees think they were never a punchline amongst the Direct Sales Force. Lol

They are really fitting their stereotype with these kinds of posts.

Again more misinformation posted here. Fact: Xerox Direct Sales people were not permitted to transition accounts to GIS. They were moved via letter to customer and dealer. Then customers would call direct sales people 6 months to 9 months later furious that GIS didn’t support them and begged to come back. They absolutely begged to come back to Direct. It was never our choice for them to leave. The company moved their coverage to continue to eliminate the Direct channel. It was a purely cost cutting move. Further, I never ever had a customer say GIS service was better than Xerox Direct. Never. I did manage to sell into a few GOS accounts by using a technicality. They abandoned their own customer.

To net it out: Direct sales and service force did not s---. They were best of the best, until Xerox decided it was too expensive. Direct sales force sold BILLIONS every year and wash the cash cow of the corporation until Xerox decided it wanted to be more like HP.

The majority of the people in GIS land used Xerox corporate as the punchline to a joke. When something really got messed up, they'd say 'oops, they pulled a Xerox!' Silo'd processes, archaic systems, clueless management, unresponsive employees.....that's Xerox. And so there it is.

@YP4uJb3-use

You can’t prove a negative. Better yet, why don’t you enlighten us and show us your metrics proving GISX was the best? Should be rather easy no?

Hey knucklehead, what metrics do you have handy to prove that GISX is not/was not the best?

and all the accounts that were not being paid because they hated xerox direct service and were tired of waiting days to get help?

I balance the 3GS, we were handed the c-ap accounts!

You mean those accounts that were already lost when we got them? Half were in cancellation only or competitive equipment had been in the four months.

You can be as angry as you wish. It doesn’t change the fact that Xerox systematically dismantled the Direct sales force in order to lower the cost of sales and eliminate it over a 10 year period. It was orchestrated and intentional.

Little did they know GIS, Agents, Channels couldn’t handle many major accounts they were handed on a silver platter.

I’m sorry if you were told that you were the greatest. You were cheaper. That’s why you were handed the accounts. And now Xerox is pursuing a whole new level of cheap.

Sorry to be so blunt, but if you are going to be so naive to think you were the best just because you were told this by your leaders then I will be here to tell you the truth. You were cheap. And the UMC / transfer costs were altered to make GIS appear more profitable. But, keep believing your leaders. They had nothing to do with this.
