I know they aren’t gonna come out with the number, but is there an approximate figure of how many stores were closed recently and how many employees got cut?

All stores are borderline at best. Remember, when the stores were sold to Eddie he and the president of ESL said they had identified 156 under performing stores and would begin to close them if they didn't improve. Looks like they have started.
