Have any areas lost standby pay for call out yet? MRO said today in our area it is being discussed. Some groups have already lost it. Ought to be interesting to see how that works out for them.

They cut off sandby pay, cut off over time and started making Central office Technicians work shift work. Business Techs in some areas that work the 911 Centers Do Not have standby either. How crazy is that. Bad business decision CenturyLink.
No mire standby in non union areas we were told yesterday in mid-atlantic. All OT must be approved in advance by SRO.
It would be worth losing standby pay if the mo--ns that call me out at 3am from a sound sleep, would quit asking me - how are you doing today? How the eff do you think i am doing at 3am when you just woke me up, you mo--n!
Then when they ask your ETA and you tell them and they say.....oh, that long? Your not gonna make our two hour response! Nooooo, really?? Well, yes, by the time i wake up, get dressed, get to the yard and get the truck and then drive an hour or two, yes it's gonna be a while!
So sad, can't believe this is happening. Glad I am not the one trying to call techs out, you'll never get anyone to answer, and I can't say that I blame them one bit.
Happening in Mpls/StPaul now, just got the word.
Building mechanics were cut off standy a while back. Call and report a CO over a hundred degrees and see how fast someone shows up after hours now.
Just them making cuts where they shouldn't once again.
Being discussed in SW Florida however CO, cable maintenance, and Prem techs are still getting standby and 2-hour minimum callout pay..For how long though???
Indiana .......IBEW territory.....lost stand-by for service techs, not CO.
So you guys are forced to be on call as a condition of employment without extra compensation?
We lost call out pay here in Florida
