Thread regarding General Motors layoffs

Solution! Do not buy GM product , remember kids that you were fired during Christmas.

No more GM products ever again in my driveway. The people are speaking Barra , your customers ! They are p-ss-d and doing business at other dealer's , You're the CEO and it's all on you . You're late to market with the mid engine Vette and you should have listened to that Belgium enginer Zora along time ago considering it was his idea. id--ts , greedy bean counters destroyed the company , don't listen to the passionate customer ever , fool's.

YMITseN-5aou does not fully understand what happened at GM during the layoffs. Certainly, companies should be able to reduce headcount to remain competitive but it needs to be done using a fair and methodical process. Most of the people that I spoke to that are still at GM were amazed at the lack of fairness in the process. Those who had great CAP reviews and significant accomplishments at GM were laid off while those who are considered "poor" workers were kept. Even those supporting BEV and autonomous functions that Mary said were so critical were laid off. GM targeted those with many years at GM who had higher salaries and would have to be paid larger pensions if they were kept much longer. It was a financial decision that did not consider employee performance or the critical areas that they were supportinng!!

Lots of sourgrapes here. Enjoy your life and stop being bitter. GM is doing fine, bash MB as you want but she's doing the right thing. Most OEMs have shrinking profits but not GM. She's got the right strategy to shrink the company because industry is changing quick and the company needs to be agile. If you got laid off...good for you, it just means new opportunity. Boycott campaigns don't work. Only stupid people resort to that pathetic and sad tactic.

@YMITseN-4vzt will be the first one on this board ripping into GM once he/she is axed. Right now, kiss the master's boot and see how far that will get you.

I used to give GM on average 3 vehicle sales every year with my GM discount. Needless to say, I will no longer provide those discounts. If every one of us part of the forced layoff decides NOT to offer those discounts (or buy a GM for themselves) going forward, that's a substantial reduction in sales for GM. Not many other ways that the mistreated employees can speak. It would be great if information like this was communicated to the media but with the threat of losing severance pay, it's too risky to speak up.

More losers talking to each other. If the original poster and the others in this thread were fired from GM, then I'm happy that they were. Shows that MB did the right thing.

Never will I buy GM , they do not support the United States first ,the workers that engineer the vehicle or the assembly line worker. They do not invest in the people of America FIRST!

The only thing that matters at a large company is stock holders, bond holders and their equity! When that equity is in danger employees are nothing, they never where. Just remember that.

To be fair, MB is just more of the same with a new female face. Many of us learned decades ago not to trust this company, both not purchasing their products, and advocating against. Others are now just catching up, but it's undeniable that GM alienates customers for life across generations.

Perhaps this is one reason their market share ONLY declines or stays the same at best. It never increases, and likely never will until they start treating their employees, and their customers like royalty. We all know that will never happen.
