Thread regarding Ford layoffs

I can’t work with the same enthusiasm as before

Call it being disappointed, call it survivor's guilt or whatever but I am starting to hate going to my job at Ford, the very sar job I enjoyed once. It’s not even a matter of fear of being laid off. I’ve simply lost my fate in the company and the values that they preached. It’s started to show on my work results. Is anybody experiencing these feelings to the same degree as I Am?

I have 3 years till I make 30 years. I just want to survive until then, and I’ll find something else. I still have a pension which I’m going to cash out as soon as I’m eligible. The stress is like an invisible monster in the room - you know it’s there, you can feel it coming, but cannot see it. Furniture boy’s note to the troops - which we call the muddle, sound like the ramblings of a lunatic mind. The sooner I can get out the better.

It’s just a pay check and there is a target behind your back if you don’t sweat hard enough... welcome to modern day slavery

Remember you can't control the world only yourself. Nothing positive will ever come out of negativity.

I just look at it as a paycheck at this point. I have to pay the bills, and it's a decent job. I wanted to move to a different position to try something new, but there are no positions opening right now because everything is frozen in place in anticipation of the redesign. So I'm stuck in a position I don't really enjoy and I don't feel like there's a lot of room to excel at with no near-term prospect of trying something else. I don't feel like I have the enthusiasm and drive to go find a job with another company after being miserable in this position for so long, so I'm just hoping I'm still here after the layoffs complete. I have interests outside of work I enjoy, so I've just kind of written off getting any fulfillment from this job. It's just kind of a paycheck now.
