Thread regarding Sears layoffs

Layoffs

Store Restructuring/Yearly IBO taking place week of May 5th. Meeting already started between Division Vps, ML and store managers. Any Info on what positions will be cut? I can’t see stores running with an even less amount of management staff.

-Are the cutting Checklist Management or Hourly??

Let’s keep each other informed as many of us are worried.

What makes this IBO any more likely to happen than all the the other imminent IBOs of the past few months claimed on here? It seems like a new IBO is always “just around the corner”, but it never does actually happen.

@YKhryPX-1tlj Sounds if my store was still opened thats what I would be doing. In my store before we closed I was in the SST it was just the supervisor and me as full timer the rest were part timers Everyone was getting limited hours no one in shoes and MPU was suppose to get any calls for MPU (LOL good luck with that).

All I can see being cut if my store was still opened janitorial (as mentioned on a post). I can also see the last ASM fully eliminated and probably AP/LP if not at the very least the last ASM and the word load be divided and given to the supervisors (had 2). Probably make one of the leads / coordinators (promote for a few pennies more) a key holder to replace the ASM. That would be so stupid to take such position. I just can't see what else we could cut in my store either way our sales were horrendous and probably get rid of commission or once again lower the commission again.

Best Buy, Lowes, Home Depot, and Costco have all mostly eliminated commissions. That's one change you could see coming a mile away.

All leads are going to be cut. Many DM will be cut. Commissions will be cut or totally eliminated. New regions with many regional managers cut. This is what is on the table as of now.

They should do a test like this:

One store run completely by District Managers

Have them compete against one store ran completely by Store managers

And of course a nice pay cut to what Leads make hourly.

These 2 test stores will be competing with each other for the metrics they push on the regular employees such as cashiers..

Put the best of the best as store Support picking internet orders, and processing the truck

The store with the best sales and metrics gets to be restructured to other stores as store managers

The losers get fired without severance

Eliminate ALL the region and District staffs. Completely irrelevant.

Store mgr p and l accountability the ONLY needed metric Let mgrs run their stores

Store mgrs could report to one or two mgrs out of HQ.

The most efficient and most cost saving move sears should do is to make each store manager in charge of 2 stores. I believe this would work and could save anywhere from 60k to 120k per store per year. Anyways it’s been proven multiple times that stores run better without a store manager at times.

But seeing that every store needs some sort of leadership and someone to be accountable I would see one for every two stores being more than enough.

At our sears we have a lot of leads and full time that have not get cut.we still have 4asm s and leads get 40 every week and full timers get almost the same 38 to 40 hrs a week.

I'm a full timer in an "A" store and get no more than 30 hours a week spread over 4 days. I'm also the only one in MPU or shoes when I'm scheduled.

They shd eliminate the store manager since The rest of the management team runs the store . They already cut most part timers.. now it’s time for everyone else to feel some pain

Since it is now Transform Holco are they still guaranteeing full times 32 hours? They are still getting their 40 at my store

Our store is not smaller. They already made a bunch of cuts in hours and staffing 2 weeks ago. Management, Supervisors, and Leads were not touched.

Remember Sears is smaller , people have to go with budget cuts the norm . Everyone gets to feel the pain in order for Sears and fast Eddie to survive . Thanks for your service !
