Thread regarding Walmart layoffs

HR won’t help you

Look here is the score for the folks that don’t already know: Going to HR at Walmart pretty much always puts you on the bad list.

I would never go to HR for anything. If I have an issue with something, I still put a smile on my face and come to work and do my job. Then I quietly make plans to leave.

This is just my experience/opinion. You’re never going to win a fight with your boss, so you best make sure they like you. And HR is there to protect the company they work for-not you.

PS. The other folks are right though. If you get a chance to work above your pay grade, always take it. Why would you complain about that? The experience is worth way more than the money in the long run if you are career minded.

This is originally a post from @YIYgNzw-2mzy that I found on another thread as a reply. Thought that more people should see this, given that it states the truth, as unfair as it might sound.

it is still helpful to record all conversations - gives you leverage over them

If you dont tell the person you are recording them then it is NOT admissible in court. Do you think they will say anything that would get them in trouble if they are being recorded? Smh

hr violates ethics every day - get one of them to hit you, and record all conversations that you have with them - build a case for a lawsuit

This is NOT a Walmart thing - this is an every company thing. HR is always there to protect the company, why in the world would anyone thing it was anything other than that? People who can't/won't figure that out are a special kind of stupid and get what they deserve.

Sad but true! Twenty years ago they WERE a liaison. When personnel first started downsizing from 3 to 2 people, I helped cover with interviewing and training and loved it. But now the way it's done is literally a couple of questions, check for a pulse, and if you're available for the shift-you're in. No background checks or reference checks that I'm aware of-unless it's management or asset protection. This company has really changed since 1998. I'm a CSM still hoping the rumored buyouts materialize.

Yep this is true for all companies. I learned many years ago elsewhere to always remember: hr works for the company not you.
