I called ethics and reported that mngmt is making me do things outside of my pay grade. I was then called into the mngrs office and berated about doing an open door on them. Suddenly I go from 36-38 hrs per week to 24 hrs per week. Called ethics again to report the retaliation. Was told they could do nothing about hrs being cut due to availability/core hrs. My hrs have been up until I made the first call, now all of a sudden I'm cut more than I have ever been. So much for no retaliation at walmart.

make the manager so angry that they curse and/or strike you - have a witness - file a lawsuit
we are so stupid
The bike builder at my store called ethics because mngmt made him do other jobs then coached him for not getting enough bikes built. He was not smart enough to do it anonymously and he got called into the office and asked why he did an open door on them. He was fired 2 days later for his productivity. Retaliation happens every day at Walmart.
Did you really think they wouldn’t retaliate?
Look here is the score for the folks that don’t already know: Going to HR at Walmart pretty much always puts you on the bad list.
I would never go to HR for anything. If I have an issue with something, I still put a smile on my face and come to work and do my job. Then I quietly make plans to leave.
This is just my experience/opinion. You’re never going to win a fight with your boss, so you best make sure they like you. And HR is there to protect the company they work for-not you.
PS. The other folks are right though. If you get a chance to work above your pay grade, always take it. Why would you complain about that? The experience is worth way more than the money in the long run if you are career minded.
Oops !! There is always willing to do what you’re not !! There is no such thing as above your pay grade at Walmart !! Read your job description 🤷🏻♀️
I kinda understand where the OP is coming from. I'm being paid as a sales floor associate but have been doing dpt mngrs job for about 8 months. I cover for dpt mgrs on PTO or loa. I'm being held accountable for some one else's dept and I'm not getting dpt mngr pay. They keep telling me I'm "training" to be a DM. It s u cks. Yes I am thankful to have a job and that's why I'm still doing it. But it still s u cks!!
Go to the unemployment and file a claim for reduced hours
There is no task or department above your pay grade unless they are working you in that position more than the position you are paid for. Should've have said ok and did what was asked of you.
You have to remember the Open Door Policy is NOT a Get What You Want Policy......
Unionize? For a WALMART job!?? LMAO.
No; you opened your fat stupid mouth, and someone with a brain slapped it back shut for you.
Welcome to life.
Those extra 12 hours were for the stuff you arent willing to do anymore.
Be glad you have a job.
Also, stop with the union talk. It’s a pipe dream.
Walmart associates are too poor and scared to afford a strike. And they can’t afford union dues. That’s reality.
Surprise. Nope ! Foolish .. indeed
One word, one answer UNIONIZE!!!!!
Labor board
OMG a job is a job, chill out. If you were doing something higher than your grade I would be Thankful for the experience. Lower than your grade, so what you making the same wage. Be glad you have job!
management always retaliates at walmart - file an EEOC complaint with the government. then, when they retaliate again, file a lawsuit. they are deathly afraid of bad publicity. tape record your conversations with your manager. get the manager to strike you.
What happened here was kinda like you tattling on school teachers to the principal and then running to the district superintendent, LOL
Does this r e a l l y surprise you?
