I mean, I do stress over layoffs - but that's because I enjoy my job and want to keep it. I'm really surprised to see so much Follett hate here. Everybody I work with seems happy - or if they're not, they're not showing it.
Anyhow, I wish good luck to anybody who wants out, but I really hope I get to stay.

Funny but true! My "beater" was 20 years old before I upgraded to a 5 year old vehicle. Soon I'll be on unemployment due to Folllet loss of bookstore contracts. Can only get better !
Well follett finally did it closing 2 b&t warehouses. It's a sad day for everyone involved
Must be a family member. The unwashed masses are doing the work of 2 or 3 people so joy isn't a factor in their jobs. As long as the family can live on their dividends, that's all that counts.
They generally get new luxury cars every year - you have a 10 year old beater so, there you go, what more do you expect?

You would have loved many of our stores 10, 15, 20 years ago. Your optimism was table stakes. You were expected to love your job. If you didn't love your job, you were in the minority.
Don't let your current infatuation mislead you. follett has demonstrated that you have an expiration date. You don't know what that date is, but you have an expiration date. Your optimism and your energy doesn't make you exceptional. It will end up making you vulnerable, at follett.
Your qualities will be celebrated at many other companies. You could be exceptional if you worked anywhere else but follett.
