Thread regarding Windstream Corp. layoffs

"Elliott Dominates Windstream’s Bankruptcy With $1 Billion Stake"

Unfortunately, I can only see the first 2 paragraphs.

Others maybe able to see more.

Elliott and Aurelius were on opposite sides of the lawsuit over the Uniti lease that Windstream lost. Elliott bet big on its lawyers' analysis of the lease.

I could see uniti buying us for almost nothing. They're the only people we're worth anything to. Wind up right back where we started minus whatever debt we get rid of through bankruptcy.

“The "Plan" in the next 2 weeks is to integrate Uniti back into the business and then spin off all of the assets into cash. “

Are you sure?

Seems like a bad deal for Uniti and it’s shareholders- why would they agree? Also, even before the Aurelius lawsuit, the stock market value of Uniti was much higher than Windstream. So how would the Windstream shareholders get compensated.

(By stock market value of the company, I mean its “market capitalization “ = total # of outstanding shares X market price of each share)

The "Plan" in the next 2 weeks is to integrate Uniti back into the business and then spin

off all of the assets into cash. It will be best appropriated where the lawyers and consultants see fit.

This is again a sure sign that we are near the beginning of the end.

Elliot wanted to fund WS to not take bankruptcy. They were going to give them 1.5 billion up front to keep things going. WS saw an opportunity to go BK and somewhat save face.
